Banaugh had quickly realized that Radjedef was not the most affable tokota.

Banaugh kept his head as high as he could, to try and protect the wolf from the worst of the wind, but it didn’t help much; every time he glanced behind him the wolf was curled stiffly in a ball around his injured paw, eyes closed tightly. Banaugh began to fear that bringing the wolf along perhaps was a bad idea… there was not a threat of dying of the cold at least in that little den.
    Cerithe was leading the way, her low body making it easier to pick up scents from the ground. Her little head was bowed as she struggled to follow the trail.
