:iconroyalroses: Inside of the tiny bread shop, while the soft guitar music play in the background, the Japanese spitz and the pomeranian mix is trying to capture the bubbles coming from the kitchen. It is the only day where Parsley can have a break for herself after a day of long deliveries. She decides to invite her fluffy friend. Coming out of the question, Joanna giggled at the two dogs playing with the bubbles. "You two are very silly. "said Joanna, quickly taking out her tiny camera from her apron pocket and take a few pictures.

As she places it away, she quickly goes inside of the kitchen and returns with a basket of eggs along with a note. Parsley looks at her owner with her head turn to the side. She remembers her human came back from the organic grocery store. But...why would she place them on the table? Watching her dig in the basket, Parsley gave a puzzled expression as she gasped. "I forgot my coupons!" said Joanna and ran to the door. "I'll try to come back as fast as I can!"

When her owner left, Parsley jumped on one of the seat and looked over the basket. "I don't see any coupons...Yep, she left it at the grocery store."

:iconwildfire-tama: Lacey leaped excitedly after some bubbles. Her tiny paws popped a bubble, the little drops flying everywhere. She laughed and turned to Joanna to she took pictures, pressing against Parsley and striking her cutest pose. She was a mix so she could never be a show dog, so she took advantage of whatever spotlight she could capture.

Lacey leaped up onto the other seat and sniffed at the eggs in the basket. ”Hmm. Such a strange way to carry eggs around.” the little dog remarked.

:iconroyalroses: It was strange to carry eggs in a basket. Then again, Parsley never questioned it. The Japanese spitz placed her nose around the egg, detecting the scent before looking back up at Lacey. "Is it normal for an egg to be yellow and fluffy?" asked Parsley as she turned one of the eggs carefully to show the pomeranian mix.

:iconwildfire-tama: Lacey narrowed her eyes, frowning in confusion at her friend. ”No…” she said, peering back at the eggs and tilting her head. All she saw were the smooth pale shells. ”Why?”

:iconroyalroses: Suddenly, a couple of the eggs shells twitched, it's cracking line growing more. Parsley watched in confusion as well, but near her face near the egg. The cracks of the eggs bursted open, revealing tiny yet fluffy cheeping chicks. The Japanese spitz stared at it with wide eyes, her eyes looking up at Lacey and going back to the chicks. "Ok...what?" Parsley said as she stared at the chicks. They looked at her direction and started to bounce up and down excitedly.

:iconwildfire-tama: Lacey let out a shriek, ”They are broken!” she cried in fear and anguish. They would make such a mess! They always did whenever they were dropped in her house. But this was not a goopy explosion that came out of the eggs. It was… a little bird! Lacey’s eyes widened and she leaned in with shock in her face. ”W-what are these little birds?” Lacey asked her friend, glancing up.

:iconroyalroses: Immediately, the chicks turned around to face Lacey at the same time. For a moment, the Japanese spitz had no idea how to react from it. Then, the chicks all ran towards the pomeranian mix and started cheeping with excitement while bouncing. "These are baby chickens called chicks. Fluffy little fellas." said Parsley as she looked back at the basket. "Joanna must have accidentally got them in the organic grocery store."

:iconwildfire-tama: Lacey let out a squeal of delight as the chicks bounced, cheeping and jumping on her. Lacey laughed, leaping down onto the ground before a rain of fluffy yellow as the chicks followed. She laid down on her side, cuddling one of the chicks. ”Come down here and play with us, Parsley!” Lacey cried in delight. ”Chicks! I hope she lets us keep them!”

:iconroyalroses: The Japanese spitz looked down at Lacey with a smile. She could swear that the chicks thinks that the Pomeranian mix was their mother. She has to admit, they do look really adorable. Jumping down from the table, Parsley nuzzled one of the fluffy chicks with her nose. "Hmm, we'll have to see. But looks like we going to have to take care of them."

:iconwildfire-tama: Lacey cuddled them happily, taking one in her paws and nuzzling it against her cheek. She loved the feel of the soft feathers against her. She glanced at Parsley, ”Oh that will be wonderful! They even look like me, don’t they?” Lacey cried joyously, sitting up on her haunches and holding up a chick in her paws so Parsley could compare.

:iconroyalroses: The Japanese spitz snorted a bit at the comparison. They really did look the same. Small and fluffy. When she felt something landed on her head, she startled a bit before she looked up and noticed the chicks bouncing on her head excitedly. Guess she wasn't much different either. Parsley watched as some of the chicks were gathering around them. "Since their staying with us, we should give them names."

:iconwildfire-tama: Lacey trotted closer to her friend and settled down beside her so they could enjoy the chicks together. ”Yes yes! Names…. alright, let’s see…. hmmmm…” she looked at them, and then scooped one up, ”this one is certainly a Ginger!” She pointed at a second, ”Chloe for this adorable little cotton puff.” She nuzzled a third, ”Bunny fits this one so well with this big feet!” She stopped herself, glancing at Parsley bashfully. ”Oh, you name the rest!”

:iconroyalroses: The Japanese spitz nodded along as she named them. These chicks had some different marking next to their tail which was making it easier for Parsley to know who was who. The chicks bounced off from her head and looked up at her with their tiny eyes. She tapped one of them by the head and said, "I'll call this one Leafie." She poked one of its bellies. "This was Sesame." One of the fluffy chicks stayed on her head and cheeped. "You can be Anpan."

:iconwildfire-tama: Lacey watched Parsley in delight as she played with the the chicks and named them. Her ears perked. ”Such strange names!” she said, ”I was sure you would name one Basil, or Rosemary!” the pomeranian mix teased, and then asked, scooping up Ginger and Bunny as they tried to scurry away, ”why did you chose those names?” she was curious for never had she heard names like those before.

:iconroyalroses: The Japanese spitz giggled a bit at Lacey's question. She looked back down at the bouncing chicks and then, back at the Pomeranian mix with a relaxed smile. "I always wanted to give names like that." Bending her head down, she nuzzled Anpan's belly. "Basil and Rosemary are my parents name..." As Parsley was going to continue, she noticed that one of Lacey's chick and hers were heading into the kitchen. "Uhhhh, Lace,  Chloe and Leafie are going to have an adventure."

:iconwildfire-tama: Lacey nodded at her explanation, though it did not really explain anything. She perked her ears as she said those were her parent’s names. ”No way!” she cried, feeling good about herself for guessing her parents’ names without even trying.

Lacey looked up at Parsley’s warning. ”Oh! Well, we can’t just let them go on their own!” she got to her paws, herding the other chicks after their two siblings. ”Let’s go!” she cried happily, nudging Sesame onward as the little chick stumbled.

:iconroyalroses: Parsley watched as the little, fluffy, bouncing chicks followed Lacey behind in a perfect straight line. She looked back at the basket and gave it a puzzled expression. What grocery store could Joanna have gone to, she asked herself in her mind and then, noticed that her friend was already in the kitchen. With a slight shrug, she quickly ran down the small stairs and looked up at the table where Chloe and Leafie were playing inside of the pie dough. "They must be hungry...Do they like bread?"

:iconwildfire-tama: Lacey laughed, watching with clear delight as the little chicks played in the dough, flour dusting their golden feathers. She looked at Parsley with a nod. ”Yes, I’ve seen people feeding birds bread before! I’m sure they would love some!” the pomeranian mix exclaimed.

:iconroyalroses: Suddenly some of the dough powder from the bag streamed down and poured onto both Parsley, Lacey, and some of the other chicks. As the Japanese spitz turned to the side, she laughed a bit and said, "Hey, you almost look like me." The golden feathered chicks were cheeping louder and bounced more excitedly. Shaking the powder off from her fur, Parsley trotted to where the bread storage was, open the glass case with her nose, and took the bread out. Breaking it into small pieces, she tossed it on the floor for the chicks to eat. Chloe and Leafie happily bounced off from the table, landed on Lacey’s head, and went with their siblings to eat.

:iconwildfire-tama: Lacey let out a cry as the flour poured all over her and the chicks. She backed up, leaving pawprints in her wake as she sneezed. She looked up at Parsley and blinked her wide brown eyes, looking at her own fur, and then she burst out laughing. ”I do! And they are all little mini Parsley’s now!” Lacey giggled as the chicks, all white, ran around peeping.

Lacey followed Parsley and shook off, then sat down watching as the chicks ate the bread. ”They love it!” she cried.

:iconroyalroses: The Japanese spitz nodded, watching as the chicks were finishing off the pieces of bread. When they were done, they all ran towards Lacey and snuggled up to her fur for warmth. Parsley couldn't resist smiling a bit at the scene. "Did you live in a farm before? You seem natural with these babies chicks."

:iconwildfire-tama: Lacey laid down with the chicks, cuddling them against her fluffy chest. She glanced over at Parsley with a laugh, ”Oh no! I just love babies!” Lacey said. Leafie, Chloe, and Ginger looked up from where they nestled into Lacey’s golden fur and smiled at Parsley, and then they ran over to her, trying to leap on her and cuddle into her soft fur. ”You are great with them too!” Lacey pointed out.

:iconroyalroses: Seeing the chicks coming towards her, Parsley did a fake run until they bounced onto her fluffy fur and cuddled against it. In return, she muzzled onto them softly and licked their heads. "My mom and dad showed me how to care for these little fluffballs back when I used to be in the farm. They were always really hungry and around the place. It's funny, my parents would always tell me to keep an eye out on them since they tend to have little adventures, but these babies-" As she looked down at herself, she didn't see the chicks around anywhere. Looking at Lacey, they disappeared from her as well. "Welp, looks like they’re doing it."

:iconwildfire-tama: Lacey perked her ears as Parsley said she had experience or instruction caring for chicks, knowing that she would certainly want to learn from that. She nodded as Parsley said they could get into little adventures. ”We will just have to keep a close eye on them.” Lacey said with a cheeky smile, only to look down and find them gone. She got to her paws. ”Oh! Where did they go?” She glanced around, ”Come on, we’ve got to find them!” she took off toward the front of the shop.

:iconroyalroses: Parsley eyes widened when the pomeranian mixed ran out of the store. Quickly following behind, the Japanese spitz lifted her nose in the air and followed the scent of the chicks. They didn't seem to run off far. Walking down the street, the scent led them to the nearby dog park. Looking around the place, she found the chicks playing in the small puddle.

:iconwildfire-tama: Lacey raced forward as they found them playing in a puddle, letting out a cry in relief. She then sat down at the edge of the puddle, watching as the little chicks played. She glanced at Parsley as she joined her by the water’s edge. She wagged her tail happily.

:iconroyalroses: Parsley smiled at her friend and then looked back at the fluffy chicks playing in the puddle. As they both were looking at the chicks, Joanna ran into the scene. Her owner watched the chicks with wide eyes before looking down at the Japanese spitz. "Did they came from my basket...?" The white furred pooch barked in response. Anpan jumped into Parsley’s head and settled into it gently. For a moment, Joanna stared, but then, she laughed. "Well, I guess these little guys can stay with us for now. But we got to find them another owner." Instantly, the chicks gathered together with Parsley and Lacey, snuggling them up with joy.
Quick Summary: Lacey and Parsley are playing when Parsley's owner brings a basket of eggs into the shop. Lacey and Parsley are shocked when little chicks hatch from the eggs! The two friends name and play with the chicks until Parsley's owner returns.
